For the customer it is often difficult to gauge the costs likely to be associated with a project. We understand the problem and often can often give an indication during the initial telephone call.

Costs for repair and expansion of your current FileMaker software
We can work by the day on your existing software, or for a fixed fee (estimates for this are mostly free except for involved progects where we may charge for getting to know your current system to a level which allows us to quote). For all but simple changes time must be allowed for getting to know your current application - this will be included in fixed price quotes.

  Costs for custom-designed FileMaker software
Initial estimates and quotes are free. The software cost depends on the development time and level of support needed and is fixed at the time of commissioning. As we normally retain copyright on design, in setting the price we also consider how applicable the solution may be to other potential users. Our normal terms are 50% of the initial fee paid at the time of commissioning with the rest of the first year's fee payable after supply of version 1v0. Initial fees start at £695 + VAT but the majority of solutions cost between £3,000 + VAT and £15,000 + VAT.

If you outline your need in an email we can give a first estimate within days. We would then need to agree a specification and a price. Once given the go-ahead, you may be surprised how quickly the initial version can be developed. Simple applications such as the one for library bookings may take only a couple of days. Our usual procedure is to provide version 1v0 for the user to test and to start entering data into (in parallel with existing systems) and then to upgrade this first version to 1v1 after a week or so once the tool has been refined with user feedback

MoleSoft is unusual in the industry for prefering fixed price projects. We understand the customers needs for a budget figure and we want to ensure the project works to everybodys satisfaction.

  Purchase of FileMaker software

For those using our services we can supply FileMaker software ( FileMaker Server 17, FileMaker Pro Advanced 17, upgrades etc) often at discount prices. This includes volume licences where the cost per seat can be significantly reduced.

We only supply legal copies. In the last year there has been a growth in cloned pirate software in may cases difficult to tell from the real thing. We do not supply this and if you are quoted significantly below our prices the chance are that you are being offered an illeagal copy. This is only a very short term saving as FileMaker are now pursuing users of such software.

If you need FileMaker 17 software (you have yet to upgrade) for the moment at least we can help you with that as well. However now is a good time to upgrade.

Our terms for supplying FileMaker's software in payment in advance as mostly the software supplied is a volume licence and therefore not transferable.

  Costs of consultancy

Our daily rate for consultancy is negotiable. Discounts may be available depending on the nature of the job (for instance we discount work for charities). Please phone to discuss your needs. Simple advice on FileMaker is often provided free!

Our terms for consultany is payment 30 days after invoice unless agreed otherwise before comencement of the project.

  Long-term support
As long as daily backups are made, all our software has free support for the first year. For support after 1 year, there is normally an annual charge of 15%. This will be offered to you as your software gets to the 12 months. Depending on the initial contract, there may also be a licence fee (which includes support) but this will be made clear in our initial contract.
